Re: 4-day workweek increasing productivity?

I do not think this will work in the long run.
The only way to increase productivity is to create a pleasant working environment.

Re: Horseshoe Theory

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bc/Political_spectrum_horseshoe_model.svg I mentioned about the Horseshoe Theory in another thread, so thought I'd start a new thread on just this topic. The idea behind the theory is that the extremes start looking fairly similar and the more extrem...

(unless I pick up bit and peace from here and there) However even before I saw this video I said to one of my friends "He has not started a new war in his term as yet. That is...

Re: Will Buddhism be the answer to climate change?

If we take a look at the East, Buddhist countries are amongst the greatest polluters. Take the Top 20 Countries Ranked by Mass of Mismanaged Plastic Waste as an example of this. (China #1, Vietnam #4, Sri Lanka #5, Thailand #6, Malaysia #8, Bangladesh #10) What I understand is Western countries lik...

as an example of this. (China #1, Vietnam #4, Sri Lanka #5, Thailand #6, Malaysia #8, Bangladesh #10) This is how you can use statistics to prove a wrong point. People in the West think that the biggest polluters are poor people. In my opinion, the biggest polluters are the rich people. When you co...

Will Buddhism be the answer to climate change?

Will Buddhism be the answer to climate change? Finally someone dare enough to take the blame for the climate change. ============= Climate-change-people-must-consume-less Radical changes to the way people live are essential for the UK to meet its target to virtually halt greenhouse gas emissions by ...

Surprisingly I found a organisation dedicated to this mission in Sri Lanka.
Perhaps not surprisingly. What we need is this message to be international.

Pledged to prevent all discriminaitons.

The following post I revived from an old Dhamma Wheel post: Is there an organisation or a group effort to combat total discriminations? I have seen some partial effort to combat discrimination at workplaces etc. I also have seen some groups are trying only to protest in an are they are affected but ...

Re: Over 200 dead in Sri Lanka terrorist attack

What is the solution for this Christian, Muslims, Jewes and Buddhist fundamentalism? Don't forget those (such as the perpetrator of the terror attack in my country) who are not particularly religious, but nationalistic/reactionary/racist/etc... Religion is not a necessary condition for terrorism......

Re: Over 200 dead in Sri Lanka terrorist attack

What is the solution for this Christian, Muslims, Jewes and Buddhist fundamentalism?
Is the fundamentalism an innate nature of human?
Is there a Buddhist word for fundamentalism in Sutta?
The only way I can think is that fundamentalism is the result of extream self-view.

Re: Celebrities and the wealthy buying college admission

This is a common problem of Sri Lanka too.
It is important that we need a lot of money to run a university.
The answer to this is to have more universities and scholarship for the poor.
Without the brilliant students, the universities do not survive even if they have a lot of money.
