Am I addicted to (in love with) my motor car???

The question is non-sequitur to me, given I don't own a motor car. I am declaring Motor Car Arahantship! However, I notice eco-warriors I know may drive their motor cars merely 200 metres instead of walking & buy the best 4WDs they can, even Range Rovers. I sense motor cars are indispensable objects...

Re: Pelosi announces formal impeachment inquiry

It appears this latest "Ukraine" nonsense is already in the process of blowing up in their faces, and will most likely take the Biden candidacy down with it. Indeed. Its old news from my news sources; all the dodgy stuff under Obama in Ukraine (lead by Republicans McCain & Lindsey Graham). Obviousl...

Re: Climate change - politics and activism

Frankly, I think it is the climate alarmists who constitute the "immediate threat to our children". Due to climate alarmism, children are becoming increasingly anxious, scared, terrified, depressed, bitter and angry. Don't forget 9/11 people. 3,000 people murdered on TV in broad daylight and the official explanation of the event was presented to you by individuals who told many lies to start many unrelated wars to murder millions of people.

Re: Climate change - politics and activism

All-out war on climate change made sense only as long as it was winnable. Once you accept that we’ve lost it, other kinds of action take on greater meaning. Preparing for fires and floods and refugees is a directly pertinent example. But the impending catastrophe heightens the urgency of almost any...

It has seemed to me for years that neoliberalism is diametrically opposed to the primary virtues of compassion, kindness, fairness and social justice, but I could be wrong.
Buddhism does not teach social justice. It teaches rebirth in hell.

Re: Ayn Rand and the Cruel Heart of Neoliberalism

That's a really idiosyncratic interpretation - as was your idea that Buddhism advocates, rather than acknowledges, inequality. No. What is a "really idiosyncratic" is your interpretation of my original post. My original post used language that merely mirrored the language of the article. Personally...

Re: Ayn Rand and the Cruel Heart of Neoliberalism

it would be kinda nice if you actually addressed the topic of the thread When I was 15 or 16 years old, my Marist Brother teacher asked me was I a fan of Milton Friedman, thinking I would be (since I was a head strong critical thinking rebel). I replied "Friedman is wrong"; given I learned about Au...

Re: Ayn Rand and the Cruel Heart of Neoliberalism

I'm not sure there's much point in saying anything at all to you... I was simply pointing out the corporate mass-media, which now includes the so-called left-wing The Guardian (now rejected by past employees, such as Australia's very own John Pilger), serves the Cruel Heart of Neoliberalism. My pos...

Re: Over 200 dead in Sri Lanka terrorist attack

The Western governments needed to suppress the majority Buddhists in order to implement their agendas in Sri Lanka and supported current government to implement anti-Buddhist operations. Listen to Tulsi Gabbard's opinion on this (before she gains power & changes her views). :geek: https://youtu.be/...

Pelosi says impeaching Trump 'just not worth it' The war (M.I.C.) gang, finance gang & Zio gang (Hillary, Schumer, McCain, Graham, etc) on both sides were originally against Trump because he said would & did start stop the wars. Re: Western Buddhists caught again in a web of lies

The only Russia-Gate that actually occurred was Israel's Netanyahu phoning Trump son-in-law Kushner to get old Tillerson & Co to phone Putin to help Israel at the United Nations. This was very old news (from MSM Haaretz , for example) and I recall was posted on a Buddhist forum somewhere at the time...

Western Buddhists caught again in a web of lies

Dear forum Its interesting how the Buddha so highly emphasised truthfulness; thus doing one's best to be honest, even when not fully informed, to get as informed as possible; or otherwise keep silent. How many Buddhists on the internet were supporting Russia-Gate? What does this say about the qualit...

Needs to stop solidarity with the 'Empire'; which caused this. Al Qaeda has been working for the Empire since before & after 9/11. People hate Islam, even though Al Qaeda is a covert operation of the Empire.
