Re: NYT: Centrists Are the Most Hostile to Democracy, Not Extremists

But there is evidence that a democratic society, once established, destroys a free economy.” Milton Friedman, 1988 “There is almost no doubt that if you had political freedom in Hong Kong you would have much less economic an...

Re: (Non-Authoritarian) Libertarian Activism

In short my position is that authoritarian activism against what is deeply destructive is warranted whereas libertarian activism in favor of what is destructive is unwarranted. On the flipside, authoritarian activism against what is not significantly destructive is unwarranted whereas libertarian ac...

What I like about Jimmy Dore is that he constantly provides present-day examples of the kind of news media shenanigans that Noam Chomsky described more broadly in his reference work Manufacturing Consent

Re: Horseshoe Theory

If I may try to elevate the conversation, the fact is, Paul, that your opinions often align with people on the Trump train If it is assumed that this puts you in a majority of conversations on the right end of the political spectrum (which is, I think, what most people think), then if the horseshoe ...

Re: Should Capitalism be outgrown?

I suppose if one didn't believe in or accept rebirth, it would be especially hard to accept as Prince WIlliam and Prince Harry would have no right to be royals in the same way the children of multi-million dollar corporations would have no right to take over the company without earning and competin...

Re: Should Capitalism be outgrown?

Again, not at all, I admitted there is corruption and cronyism on all sides. My point was the socialist nations all failed. Most of the capitalist ones did not and in fact virtually all nations are capitalist today, with some form, some level and degree of a mixed-economy, but still essentially cap...

My opinion is all systems have their downsides and...
