Re: This forum could become stagnant...

We haven't known each other very long Quite a number of us have known each other for 10-15 years ... and like family, there are recurring issues. Some of what you point at is likely the result of that familiarity and of a generous tolerance for individual quirkiness as a result of it. Some of it is...

Re: Buddhist statement on the separation of children from their parents

Also, from trump's many statements it is clear that he is inflicting suffering on children (and parents) as a deterent to immigration and that he is inflicting suffering on children (and parents) to put pressure on congress to pass his own personal immigration agenda. This is not a matter of partis...

I imagine that I'm the person here who has the least knowledge of Buddhism, since I've only been practicing for around 3 months- and have only focused on the 4NT, the 5P's, and the N8FP so far.
Many teachers have said that combination is a lifetime practice in itself. One of my teachers said that ...

Re: engaged Buddhim is non-sectarian -- Drawing the line

Yes non-sectarian as in cooperating together in engaged activities and not holding to a view that one sect is superior to another.a So.. as an 'engaged buddhist', would you say that engagement is a superior strategy to non-engagement? And if not, why are you 'engaged'? IMO, an 'engaged' dharma prac...

Re: Drawing the line

I see to that some number of various sources focus on, or at least speak a lot to, public policy issues.
