Beggar "activism" in depriving "himself" or whom? "Overturning the bowl"

Post by Samana Johann » Sat Jun 09, 2018 3:29 am

As personal issues are best from deeper reflection, it's not to be seen as "justice" act, but possible a good starter of a discussion of "self-depriving" from future gains:

Overturning the bowl

Think about your actions not only toward the fruits for you, but also in regard of your relatives.

Let the Juwels know when you get to mind again, and formost you fellows.

As long as not really untouchable by having left all relations aside of the gems, you actions meet also those bound to you, again yourself.
Feel given to share merits and/or use it yourself. This post's content has come into being by generosity toward higher and so it's given as such, not dedicated for low worldly trade or commercial purpose or to bind not just toward higher and beyond.

What has happened that requires turning over the bowl on David's part? This seems to be an extreme measure if you feel like he has done wrong to the 4 assemblies. What has he said or done that is worthy of such a Stern rebuke?

It seems that Samana Johann has a very narrow view on how best to support the dharma. It could be summed up as, "The best way to improve society is to make merit by donating to the sangha," which is a traditional view in some communities but is seriously out of sympathy with Engaged Buddhism. That would be enough to account for his rejection of David and the three Wheels.
He has asked us to close his account here and is not currently active on DWE.
