Austerity

Post by fwiw » Tue Oct 29, 2019 3:43 pm

The global elite is testing how far it can take austerity in western and south American countries. Brazil, Ecuador, Chile, France, Spain, Italy, (UK has been in it since the 80s), New Zealand, Australia...

This thread is meant to discuss this trend

However, I just stumbled on an new perspective.

This is an interview of Seun Kuti, the youngest son of famed Nigerian musician Fela Kuti.
Institutional racism... gives benefits to working class people in the West and for that reason they feel they don't need to be in solidarity with the sufferings of and operation of working class people in Africa. Like 'It is "our" problem', whereas it is a global problem. 20 years ago, 30 years ago, 35 years ago, austerity was an African problem. Nobody [cared]. But now, Europeans have the problem too. Working class people in Europe are facing this. With time, as the elite are the [?] in the world, there are few of them so they can easily organize. Whatever they practiced on the "less respected" or lesser people of the world, they are definitely bringing it to the working class people of the West. It's just gonna be time.
It starts around the 30:00 mark

... in my opinion
