Trump vs. Pelosi

Post by DNS » Wed Feb 05, 2020 4:05 am

2020 State of the Union Speech just ended.

Trump refuses to shake Pelosi's hand:

Pelosi tears up the transcript of the speech at the end.

I've never seen a SOTU like this one before. It looked very polarized, even much more than past SOTUs.

I did not listen to the speech, but i am not sure what was she trying to achieve by tearing up the speech transcript.

Division seems to be essential to ruling. The two party system provides a conceptual political spectrum of which candidates can nominate themselves and voters can choose. Ideally, the two parties should cooperate for the benefit of the people. According to a recent PBS documentary, the polarization began during the Obama presidency. The way the documentary is fabricated seemed biased to me, but it was an interesting watch nonetheless.
