Buddha loves Republicans too?

Post by Presto Kensho » Sat May 23, 2020 8:37 pm

When we realize that Buddha accepts the evil man like Aṅgulimāla just as he is, it becomes harder to judge someone by mere appearances.

Trump might be a pompous jerk, to say the least, but that doesn't mean he's done nothing good as president. Because of the Coronavirus outbreak, Trump has given more emergency aid to families than perhaps any president in history, not to mention the fact that his tax cuts doubled the earned income tax credit to working families.

And George W. Bush, as one of his last major decisions in office, sent more money to AIDS victims in Africa than any previous president.

We can also consider the role Ronald Reagan played in ending the Cold War through peace talks with Gorbachev.

Do we listen to the compassionate call of the Buddha, or do we judge others by mere appearances, like the blind men and the elephant?

The Buddha would obviously have nothing good to say about Trump, he spared nobody if they talked total BS.
18 years ago I made one of the most important decisions of my life and entered a local Cambodian Buddhist Temple as a temple boy and, for only 3 weeks, an actual Therevada Buddhist monk.

And if you're lucky then the God's a she.
