Greetings from Dorje Shedrub

Post by Dorje Shedrub » Thu Jun 07, 2018 5:21 pm

I thought that I should introduce myself, even though its a bit late.

I was raised Christian, but in college I became dissatisfied with my denomination, so I began exploring a variety of Christian traditions. I was introduced to Buddhism about thirty years ago when I began working with Cambodian refugees here in the USA. I eventually started attending a Cambodian Theravada temple and became friends with the abbot. It was then that I first took refuge in The Tripple Gem. The abbot taught me Dhamma and I helped him with English and became his confidant when temple politics became too heavy and he needed to talk. I frequently participated in Evening chanting (in Pali and Khmer) and Buddhist holidays.

Years later I lived in an area with neither a temple nor Buddhists. I was fortunate to find e-sangha where I began studying Vajrayana after feeling a special connection with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the late Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, who gave me my Dharma name in a dream (which is Dorje Shedrub and means practice and study the diamond/vajra way). Through Dzogchen Community members, especially Loppon Namdrol (Malcolm) I became a student of Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche.

I consider myself a lapsed Catholic and Dzogchen practitioner, though I still have great fondness and respect for the Theravada tradition. With everyone's help, I will do my best to be a fair and just moderator.

(Please forgive my ramblings)

🙏May this forum grow and help us all to be better engaged Buddhists🙏

In the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.
Through the merit I create by practicing giving and the other perfections
May I attain Buddhahood for the sake of all sentient beings.

Nyom Chouk krohom (the name for Rosa is phka chuk and rose lotus are called krohm, red)

May you past merits and present actions allow Nyom to get in touch with the real heart of Khemas deep rooted tradition.

Even less Khmer know the heart and meaning of their verbal attribute and be sure that westernication, moderniced Khmer are not a little Khmer but just foolish engaged cultur destructors, geedy after power without understanding Kampuchea "Gained by own effort, sacrifies" and caught in cultur-marxism for the most, already.

(the propably and sadly only Dutong monk in the Khema-land, and general most respected here everywhere, not to impress but to let it known and reduce others risk of much grave wrong deeds, since this media requires offensiver infomation)

As long as pause the walk on here, feel given to meet another world if on a journey in other worlds.
Feel given to share merits and/or use it yourself. This post's content has come into being by generosity toward higher and so it's given as such, not dedicated for low worldly trade or commercial purpose or to bind not just toward higher and beyond.
